Facebook responsible for a fifth of divorces

Emma Woollacott | Tue 22nd Dec 2009,

Research carried out by a UK online divorce service indicates that the social networking site is really bad for your marriage.

Divorce-Online scanned its divorce petition database for the use of the word 'Facebook' - and found no fewer than 989 instances of the word in the 5,000 divorce petitions sampled.

This means that just under a fifth of all the petitions filed through the company had references to Facebook within the text of the divorce petition itself, implying that it was a pretty major factor in the split.

Managing Director Mark Keenan said "I had heard from my staff that there were a lot of people saying they had found out things about their partners on Facebook, and I decided to see how prevalent it was.

"I was really surprised to see 20 percent of all the petitions containing references to Facebook. The most common reason seemed to be people having inappropriate sexual chats with people they were not supposed to."

Asset Searches and Divorce - Finding What They're Hiding

Divorce itself can be bad enough, but matters can become significantly worse when one partner is seemingly withholding assets, or information about those assets, from the other. Unfortunately, the act of hiding assets in marriage is becoming more and more commonplace, and if you think that there's even a remote chance that your spouse is not forthcoming with all of their accounts, property, vehicles, or cash reserves, you owe it to yourself to look try and find out if your spouse is hiding assets from you.

What asset searches can reveal

Asset searches, also called asset investigations, and asset locator services, can find a great number of items under your spouse's name. For instance:
* Businesses
* Accounts
* Property / real estate
* Vehicles

When you hire an actual investigation firm to search for your spouse's assets, they can dig deeper than a simple database search -- an investigator may be able to dig into properties, vehicles, and assets under the control of businesses in your spouse's name.
Limitations of divorce asset searches

While asset searches tend to be comprehensive by nature, they are not without potential limitations. As an unfortunately all-too-real example, asset searches may not be able to uncover money, property, or other goods that were transferred over into another person's name for the sole purpose of hiding those assets. For instance, let's say that your spouse has a friend or business partner, and they regularly send them money, transfer accounts into their name, or transfer ownership of a business or businesses, or property. In cases like these, it's usually quite a bit more difficult to find those assets as they are technically, and legally, no longer assets that your spouse controls.

Unfortunately, these asset-transfer transactions may look legitimate on paper, if there is even a paper trail. Sending money to an associate or even an unknown third party can be explained away by calling it a business expense or loan repayment. Furthermore, especially if your spouse has means, either personally or through their business, it can be difficult even for a seasoned asset investigator to follow all of the various trails to identify which transactions may be related to asset hiding and which transactions are legitimate business transaction. However, as this type of asset hiding generally requires that your spouse transfer full control of their assets over to the third parties, it is by no means an everyday occurrence.

If you think that your spouse may be hiding assets from you, it is in your best interest to hire an investigator that offers asset search services. After all, if your spouse is hiding assets from you, it could make a night and day difference in the end-result settlement that you receive during your divorce proceedings.

What is a Private Investigator?
Cloak and dagger stories are only partly true when it comes to private investigators. They actually do a lot more than run around after people, although that is part of the job. They also have access to great databases and can get information about people you would find extremely difficult to get yourself.
Why Hire a Private Investigator?
Private investigators have access to information which other people are not able to obtain, which is why it so often makes sense to hire them. Also, they are professionals with all the experience and equipment needed to uncover the evidence you may require, whether it’s a child custody, homicide or sexual harassment case.

Settling a Neighbor Dispute With a Private Investigator
Neighbors fight for all sorts of reasons, including property issues, playing of loud music, trespassing, animals and even personal dislike. Sometimes it’s because one neighbor has committed a crime, and the other turns them in. Whatever the case, it’s not always pleasant – and that is where a can come in and sort things out.
Uncovering Workman’s Compensation and Insurance Fraud

Computer forensics investigators do not just recover lost data, they can follow trails to see why the data got lost and why, and find out if anything untoward has been going on. They can also tell if someone is spying on you using your computer, such as a competitor who wants an unfair business advantage.
What is a Corporate Investigator?
Corporate investigators perform a myriad of tasks, from helping catch an employee-turned-thief to finding out who the boss’s wife is sleeping with. And if someone in the team has turned bad, they can sort out the rotten potato.
How to Hire a Bodyguard
Typically there are two types of bodyguards — overt and covert. What you need depends on your own personal needs and wants. You might need someone with special skills, someone who blends in, someone who stands out from the crowd and acts as a deterrent. It’s all up to you.

Are There Any Free Marriage and Divorce Records Search Websites?

Internet forums, questions and answers websites, and even blogs are rampant with questions about how to find totally free marriage and divorce records search websites. The question is asked frequently, but to put the debate to rest -- is there such thing as a completely free website or database to find marriage and divorce records?

The short answer is no, there are not, at least not on a large scale, and not in a way where you can receive useful results without paying for them. While there are, literally, hundreds of thousands of web pages that purport to offer free marriage and divorce records searches, these websites may, as the advertising conveys, offer free 'searches', but that's the clincher -- you can search for free, but it's the results that you have to pay for. A free records search without free results is like receiving one of those $1,000 shopping spree vouchers that entitles you to receive 'free' gifts, and your only obligation is to pay twice the gift's value in shipping in handling charges; in other words, free searches and paid results aren't really free at all. The thing is, marriage and divorce records are a matter of public record, so you can access these records in the right situations, if you have the right information, and you're willing to spend a few dollars to get this information. While there is a lot of free information on the internet, and there is plenty of premium information online that people pay for, even though it can be found free elsewhere, marriage and divorce records search websites are not a part of that group.

There are exceptions to this rule, however. Some counties in the USA do offer free marriage or divorce record information online without cost, and some websites do offer online marriage records, though the records are far from comprehensive, and will probably be of little-to-no value for the majority of records seekers. At the end of the day, there just are not any wide-reaching options for individuals who want to look up marriage or divorce records without cost. If you know the state and county of the marriage or divorce, there's a good chance that you can obtain the information you require from the county courthouse for a fee. However, if you do not have this information, your options are unfortunately limited.
While there are a lot of websites that purport to offer a 'free marriage search' or 'free divorce search', nearly all of these claims are, at best, misleading, and really makes you wonder about the integrity, and reliability, of a records search website that misleads you just to get you to visit their website. If you don't want to trust your money to a 'free' marriage and divorce record search website, you might want to consider hiring a private investigator who works in the industry.

Investigators are not the ones making the false claims, and if the information is available, a private investigator will be able to get that information for you the first time around.

Do You Have a Cheating Spouse? Here's How to Get Proof

It's an age-old dilemma, even though the problem is much more widespread these days -- cheating spouses. Really, it's a heartbreaking ordeal for most, though the mere thought of extramarital activity can easily bring out anger alongside the tears and pestering questions. The really bad news, though, is that unless you catch your spouse cheating on you, or you have physical proof in hand of them having an affair, all you have is your gut instinct and maybe a few signs of a cheating spouse, hardly anything definitive. What you need is proof, and that's what we're here to give you -- tips on how to catch a cheating spouse.

It's mostly common knowledge that the internet is one of the leading resources for a cheating spouse. In fact, most married or committed adults either commit their infidelity on the internet alone, or the internet plays a major role in their adulterous affairs. For this reason, there's a good chance that you can catch a cheating spouse on the internet. Most cheaters who use the internet think that their activities are anonymous because they know how to remove traces of their online activities from their computers. Even for those who are knowledgeable enough to wipe traces of their illicit activity from their computers, they cannot wipe traces of their activities from other websites. This is how you can catch them.

Online infidelity investigation services specialize in working with suspicious partners to catch their cheating spouses. Instead of recovering deleted data from a computer, which in itself is a viable option in some cases of infidelity, they use information about your spouse to uncover their online activities. They find profiles that your spouse has created on chat websites, escort websites, and married-but-cheating types of websites, and give you the proof you need to confront your cheating spouse on their extramarital activity with hard evidence.

If you are looking for current proof of their extramarital intents, some investigative services will even create a 'trap' for your spouse. If you opt for these services, the investigator can find out if your spouse is currently engaged in extramarital activity, is willing to engage in extramarital activity, or is simply at the starting-grounds before they moved from improper conversations to physical intimacy outside of their marital vows. Just because your spouse has an online profile somewhere where they should not have, does not mean that they have already cheated on you, but it does mean that they are likely to if they haven't already.

Because the internet is such a significant starting ground for cheating spouses, it is the first, and oftentimes the only, place you should look to catch them in their extramarital activity. While they may be smart enough to hide their activity from you, they aren't going to be able to hide from a comprehensive online investigation service.

Catch Your Spouse Cheating

When people get married and say their vows, they vow to forsake all others and to support each other till death do them part.

Sadly, it doesn't work out that way half the time. And sadly, many married people are having affairs. In a perfect world, everyone would keep their vows forever.

But obviously we don't live in a perfect world and you may have suspicions your spouse is cheating. Those suspicions will nag at you and drive you crazy. That's why you need to get rid of those suspicions and catch your spouse cheating.

Some cheaters are careful about not getting caught in their double life, leaving their spouses in the dark or so they hope. They have seemingly valid excuses for everything, delete their internet activity, only use cheating on the internet at work, don't let their boyfriend or girlfriend call the home phone and delete any text messages they receive.

Even if they think they are being careful, you can catch your spouse cheating. How? With some pretty cool technology. Online investigators have this kind of technology to catch your spouse cheating and they don't charge an arm and a leg to help you catch your spouse cheating. They charge one flat fee depending on what type of services you need.

Is your spouse using their work computer to go to dating, sex, or swinger sites? There are countless dating sites on the internet. There are even sites set up just for married people to find someone to have an affair with.

Or is your spouse pretending to be single or divorced, looking for romance while their boyfriend or girlfriend has no clue they are really married?

Your spouse may be careful to either use their work computer for their cheating conquests or they may use their private laptop or home computer and delete all evidence of any sites they have visited and don't want you to know about. All they have to do is press "Clear History" and all history of visited websites are gone.

Even so, you can still find out if they are cheating.

Give an online investigator your spouse's email and they will run it through their database to see if that email has been registered with any of the dating and sex sites on the internet.
If they are, then they can be as careful as possible, but you have uncovered what they are hiding.

Get rid of your suspicions and find out for sure if your spouse is one of the many married people who have registered for an account at a dating site.

Learn from a private investigator the best way to go about catching your spouse cheating.

How to Undelete Deleted Pics to Uncover Infidelity

Too often, those who are faithful in a relationship are less technically savvy than their could-be cheating partners. Which, this really is unfortunate as today's cheaters are leaving blatant traces of their illicit activity just below the surface, and one small step out of your personal reach. Common to cheaters, pictures, in one form or another, are an integral part of their illicit activity. Maybe your spouse is viewing pornography, maybe they have suggestive images of somebody besides you on their computer or phone, or maybe they have images that were unknowingly stored on their computer while they were browsing websites that they shouldn't have been.
Regardless of which scenario your spouse might fall into, there are ways to undelete deleted pics to uncover extramarital activity.

One of the most effective ways to undelete deleted pics is to have a computer forensics investigation service recover the deleted images for you. In some cases, this is the only way that you will be able to recover the deleted pics that give you proof that your spouse is into something that he or she should not be. Now, truth be told, there is software out there that may help you to undelete deleted pics yourself, and some of it may work well enough for your purposes. However, there are a number of dangers that present themselves for those who try to recover deleted images themselves:

Not all data recovery software is safe. It can be infested with malware, spyware, or just be poorly written software that can compromise your computer.

Comprehensive data recovery takes a long time, especially on large hard drives and on older computers. It may take you hours, or days, to completely scan your computer's hard drive for deleted images, and unless your spouse is gone for a few days, they may catch on to what you're doing.
While there is software available to recover deleted images from computer hard drives, the job becomes more technical, and outright prohibitive, for the average computer user to try to undelete deleted pics from cell phones. Which, if your spouse holds incriminating evidence on their cell phone, you probably will not be able to recover it.

To a computer data recovery expert, extracting deleted images, plus other deleted files -- videos, emails, documents, and so forth, is their job. Not only do they have to skills to be able to piece together partial data, they have the software, and the workspace, that will allow them to recover the deleted images so that you can finally know, for sure, what your spouse is trying to hide from you.

If you really want to find out of your spouse is cheating on you, or, at the very least, is looking at things that they are not supposed to be looking at, computer forensics specialists are the people to seek. While the outcome of the investigation may not be pleasant, at least you can finally know the truth so that you can confront your spouse, and move on with your life, one way or another.
